BAPTISM

Baptism is important for every believer as one of the two ordinances given to the Church by Jesus Christ. As a congregation that agrees with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000), and voluntarily cooperates with other Southern Baptist Churches, we believe baptism is by full immersion for those who repent of their sins, confess that Jesus is Lord, and believe Jesus Christ was raised from the dead (Acts 2:37-42; Romans 10:9, 10).

Christian baptism is a public testimony symbolizing one’s faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior Jesus Christ. And as a gathering of professing believers, baptism is also a prerequisite to church membership at First Baptist Clarksville. If you are considering joining First Baptist Clarksville in membership and have not been baptized by full immersion, we invite you to speak with a minister, come forward during the invitation, or fill out a connect card indicating your desire to be baptized. A minister will speak with you about baptism. If you have questions and would like to talk with someone about baptism, please contact the church office at 931.245.0000.
